Antelope Garden Club Activities

Plant Sale – Usually held in May; all members expected to participate with plant prep and sale day activities.  Most plants are donated by local growers.  Proceeds are used to maintain town landscapes.

Town Landscapes – Club maintains town landscapes: north-west planter in front of Senior Center, front of Police Station, inside and front of Library, front of Post Office, rose garden at Chino Valley Community Church (in trade for meeting space).  Club members expected to participate with landscape maintenance; workdays are scheduled throughout the year.

Meals on Wheels Basket Delivery – Club members prepare fruit baskets the Sunday before Thanksgiving and deliver them the next day.  All club members needed to help with basket prep; about 6 members needed to help with delivery.

Craft Fairs – Club participates in a craft fair every other year.  Proceeds can be used for non-horticulture donations.  Club members will have workdays to create the items for sale.

Annual Club Picnic (in lieu of meeting that month) – All members and a guest are invited.  The club provides beverage and paper products; potluck dinner. 

Holiday Dinner (in lieu of December meeting) – All members and a guest are invited.  Fun gift exchange is the highlight of the evening.

Special Projects – In addition to maintaining committed town landscapes, we periodically do special community projects that enhance our community. Some examples are landscape installations, scholarships to agriculture students, supplies for school gardens, etc.  A project coordinator will be assigned and committee members will be requested.

Tours and Hikes – Club members can participate is garden-related tours and hikes that are coordinated by club members.
